PILGRIMAGE ON THE CAMINO de SANTIAGO: Part 3

PILGRIMAGE on the CAMINO de SANTIAGO: Part 3

The Last 100 KM from Ourense to Santiago de Compostela, SPAIN
May 1-9, 2024

The Camino journey continues on Part 3 of the Camino Mozárabe Trilogy. We will explore the Spain you never knew in a unique way by following ancient trails through some of the most arrestingly beautiful landscapes the country has to offer. Traditionally, the blessing of undertaking the pilgrimage is a calling. We will lead you away from the masses on a road less travelled, allowing you to reflect as you walk and fully embrace the meaning of the pilgrim experience. Reach a deeper level of understanding of Spain’s rich history and return home a changed person!

ACCOMMODATIONS & FOOD:

Pilgrimages don't have to mean roughing it! Manni, a resident of Spain and expert travel guide, pairs beautiful boutique accommodations with fabulous food and wine. Stay in a range of unique handpicked accommodations to give your Camino a touch of luxury: from cozy, authentic Spanish farmhouses to sumptuous hotels, we guarantee you a comfy bed to rest your head at the end of each memorable day's walk. Enjoy fantastic local food and wine at every stage of your journey, in a range of carefully selected, authentic restaurants along the route. Delicious full breakfasts and sumptuous dinners are included.

WALKING & WELLNESS:

We've combined walking with wellness to create a truly safe and healing experience for everyone. The addition of yoga and meditation is an intrinsic part of our pilgrimage. Together we will practice daily walking meditations, spontaneous Qigong in flower-filled fields, and afternoon restorative Yin yoga and MELT Method back at the hotel. This results in a fully immersive pilgrimage experience, and one in which the internal journey is equally as important as the external.

As an experienced team, Manni and Erin serve as encouragers, supporters and expert guides to their pilgrims on every step of the way of this remarkable journey. The total distance we will walk is 62 miles (100 km), approximately 9 miles per day. While an average walker walks one mile in 15 minutes, we have the entire day to cover these distances. We want our pilgrims to feel they have time to connect with themselves and their environment, without the pressure of rushing to complete each day's journey. And our comfy bus is always a phone call away in case the need arises to end your walk sooner.

SOLO PILGRIMS WELCOME:

Walking the Camino Mozárabe alone? We welcome solo travelers and are confident that hiking with us will provide you with personal connections that last a lifetime! (Although single rooms are very limited and sell-out quickly, we can also pair you with another solo traveler.)

TESTIMONIALS: Camino Mozárabe May 2022

“10 STARS OUT OF 10!”

“When I walked the Camino from Salamanca to Santiago de Compostela with Toma and Coe in May of 2022, even my highest expectations were exceeded. As the leaders, Manni and Erin are incredibly dedicated to providing the personal attention that can make all the difference on a trip like this. I was challenged (in a good way!) both physically and spiritually while supported not only by Manni and Erin, but by my fellow Peregrinos as well, who were warm, intelligent and offered camaraderie and good fun at the end of every day. The accommodations were all first rate, offering both comfort and a sense of history. The route was spectacular and allowed plenty of time to contemplate the natural beauty, in silence if you wanted or chatting with friends if you preferred. The meals – whether casual or upscale dining – were fabulous, and attention was always paid to any food allergies or preferences you needed to have accommodated. While on the trail we were able to stay in touch with our group of 14 using What’s App, so you never had to worry about taking a wrong turn or getting support if you needed it. The logistics were impeccable. The BONUS was that this adventure really did change my life in ways that are too personal to post. If nothing else, I lived in the “present moment” for eight days straight — what a gift!” ~ Sharon G

“THE ONLY WAY TO DO THE CAMINO!”

“For me, Manni’s walking trip to Santiago de Compostela is “the Way,” the ONLY way, to do the Camino. I was inspired by a friend’s yoga teacher, Erin Fleming, who has often collaborated with Manni to take groups on a less-traveled Camino path called the Camino Mozarabe. Before I knew it, several other friends had also signed up and we found ourselves eagerly practicing 4-10 mile walks in the several months before the journey. To encourage our preparation, Erin and Manni joked that we would be “posh pilgrims” who would have good food and great accommodations along the way. And we did!! The countryside we hiked was absolutely lovely. And Manni arranged our itinerary with such care, and with such love of the Camino, the Spanish countryside and its people, that the experience was a very high point in my many decades of travel. Walking the Camino is always a person’s unique journey (which can be physical, psychological and/or spiritual). With Manni as a guide, sharing his empathy and his gift for story-telling along the way, I believe every pilgrim’s experience on this special Camino was very rich indeed.” ~ Beth R
